What People Are Saying About the Workshop….

Throughout the Workshop Attendees will Learn:

Nashville LOTR Movie Night - Fat Head

LOTR is doing TWO meetings a month now. Our second event will be more targeted -
We are pleased to have libertarian Comedian and Writer Tom Naughton show the freshly released directors cut of ‘Fat Head’ (you’ve been fed a load of bologna)! With a Q & A following – because LOTR is always about discussion.

You will love his objective view and wit on the big screen.

“A comedian replies to the “Super Size Me” crowd by losing weight on a fast-food diet while demonstrating that almost everything you think you know about the obesity “epidemic” and healthy eating is wrong.”

Please RSVP and invite your friends.

March 7th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm

Green Hills Library

3701 Benham Avenue, Nashville, TN 37215

March meeting - Drones, Drinks, and Discussion

A night of Easy Targets: Destroy yourself with friends at Liberty on the Rocks

It’s been a busy month since last we met, folks.  Obama was inaugurated a third and fourth time, and with all the hoopla, somehow a white paper detailing the President’s legal justification to kill American citizens without due process was leaked to the press.  Apparently, this was not information that the administration felt it needed to share with the rest of us.  Not to worry though, elected officials from both the right and the left assure us that the president’s totally got things under control, this drone program is awesome, and only American citizens who have done something wrong have anything to worry about.  It’s always great to see that bipartisanship survives in these acrimonious times.
So come out this upcoming Thursday, February 21st, to Mafiaoza’s starting at 5:30pm to discuss these issues and more at Liberty on the Rocks.  We may not be able to guarantee that you’re not on a secret kill list, but if you are, the 2 for 1 beers until 7pm are guaranteed to make you feel better about it.

Introducing LOTR Library:

We are trying to get a list together of books that members currently have and are willing to lend/give to other people in the group. Educating yourself and others is a great way to propel the liberty movement forward.

Introducing our Second Monthly Meeting:

Order the DVD

We will be kicking off our second Liberty on the Rocks meeting starting March 7th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. For our first meeting, we will be showing Fat Head at the Green Hills Library.  We hope you’ll attend and participate in our lively discussion after the movie. We’ll have more information in the next few weeks, but we are hoping to have a big enough group so that we can meetup for drinks at a local restaurant afterwards. Please let us know if you are interested in either or both events so that we can plan accordingly.

“Have you seen the news stories about the obesity epidemic? Did you see Super Size Me? Then guess what? … You’ve been fed a load of bologna.

Comedian (and former health writer) Tom Naughton replies to the blame-McDonald’s crowd by losing weight on a fat-laden fast-food diet while demonstrating that nearly everything we’ve been told about obesity and healthy eating is wrong. Along with some delicious parody of Super Size Me, Naughton serves up plenty of no-bologna facts that will stun most viewers, such as: The obesity “epidemic” has been wildly exaggerated by the CDC. People the government classifies as “overweight” have longer lifespans than people classified as “normal weight.” Having low cholesterol is unhealthy. Lowfat diets can lead to depression and type II diabetes. Saturated fat doesn’t cause heart disease — but sugars, starches and processed vegetable oils do.” http://www.fathead-movie.com/index.php/about/

February Meeting with Glenn Jacobs!

Knoxville’s Liberty On The Rocks group will hold its February meeting on Tuesday, February 12 at 6:30 PM Eastern.  Glenn Jacobs will be joining us to speak briefly.  If you are not familiar with Glenn, you may know him by another name – “Kane” – on the professional wrestling circuit.  He is a fantastic and articulate spokesman for liberty and we’ll be excited to have him with us this week!

The meeting will be held at The Crown & Goose in the Old City.  Free parking is available in The Crown & Goose’s lot across the street from the restaurant.

Come join us for great food, drink and conversation – and be sure to invite your friends!
Please RSVP on Facebook so we can give The Crown & Goose a rough headcount.Click here to RSVP. If you are not on Facebook, just reply to this e-mail to send us your RSVP.

A few people have indicated an interest in trying other venues besides the Crown & Goose to have our meeting.  If you have a suggestion, either post it on our Facebook group or e-mail knoxvillelibertyontherocks@gmail.com.

January meeting - Numismatic Simulacrum Pandemonium Edition of Liberty on the Rocks

Come join us next Thursday, 5:30pm at Mafiaoza’s for the first meeting of 2013!

This has been an action packed Holiday season. You may have noticed that the world didn’t end, so the Mayans were wrong. But you wouldn’t be able to tell that from the news in D.C. and Tennessee. The U.S. is apparently going to be paying its bills with trillion dollar coins now, and police chiefs are fighting wine in grocery stores for fear of pandemic level butt-chugging.

See you there!

Additionally, we’ll be trying to arrange a book club of sorts, so make sure to sign up and get involved.

We would also like to start a LOTR Library were people can checkout books. Educating yourself and others is a great way to propel the liberty movement forward. Please bring any material that you would like to donate our LOTR Library.

As always your friends, family, coworkers are welcome so spread the word!

Last Liberty on the Rocks before the Mayan Fiscal Cliff

We are meeting a week early this month so everyone will have time to prepare for the obvious doom on the 21st.  Prepare for a night of lively discussion of current political, economic, philosophical issues, and remember that after the apocalypse, be it Mayan or Fiscal, 2 for 1 beers may no longer be a certainty.  So come on out to Mafiaoza’s on 12th Ave S on Thursday, December 13th.  As always Liberty on the Rocks starts at 5:30pm and goes until they ask us to leave.

Post-election meet to weep for the fate of humanity celebration30

Come on out this Thursday, November 8th, for Liberty on the Rocks at Mafioaza’s.  We’ve moved up the night this month on account of Thanksgiving.  We wanted to give everyone one last chance to engage with a group of rational thinkers before being thrown into the nightmare of political discussion with estranged family members.  One last hurrah before you’re drugged to the gills with turkey, one too many bites of pumpkin pie, and a tall mug of hot apple cider brandy while being forced to listen to your adopted-second-cousin-once-removed-in-law ramble on about how things are gonna be different now that their guy won the election.

Additionally, we’ll be trying to arrange a book club of sorts, so make sure to sign up and get involved.

As always, things start at 5:30pm and go until they stop.
